About Dr. Lawrence Addleson, DDS, FAACD
Dr. Addleson is an Accredited Member and a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the largest organization in the world dedicated to the art and science of cosmetic dentistry. This seldom achieved credential (fewer than 40 in the world) is a testament to his clinical expertise. Dr. Addleson is a Board Examiner for both Accreditation and Fellowship of the AACD and has served on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Educational Task Force. He has been Chairman of Education and Credentials and served two terms as Chairman of the Board of Governors. Dr. Addleson has been elected to serve as President of the AACD in 2004. He is one of the founders of the Southwest Chapter of the AACD and is a Cosmetic Dentistry consultant for the San Diego Advanced Study Group. Dr. Addleson has had articles published in professional dental journals using his actual patients as examples of his superb dentistry. He teaches cosmetic dentistry nationally and internationally and advises several dental manufacturers regarding products and materials. Dr. Addleson is now using laser technology that helps reduce risk of bacterial infection, preserve healthy tooth structure, and is "smart" enough to discern tooth decay is now available to patients who want a quick, painless trip to the dentist.

Using a device about the size of a pen that emits a tiny beam of light, the dentist guides the laser over the tooth. The laser can "sense" the difference between decay and healthy tooth structure. A laser of a different type is used to eliminate decay. This laser minimizes damage to any of the surrounding tooth structure. With laser treatment the patient feels no discomfort during the procedure and frequently no anesthesia is necessary.
